Additional License Instance to Your Message Sniffer Subscription

If you are adding an additional server to your setup, you can use your current license id and auth code for your new server. As per our licensing agreement, each server with a license does need to be paid for. Use the link at the bottom of the page to get authorization for an additional instance on your subscription.

Since you are adding this additional instance of the license during your subscription year, the cost of the second instance will be prorated (number of days left in your subscription * daily rate, where daily rate = $495/365 days). Then at renewal time you will need to renew all instances at the same time.

How many subscriptions (authorized license instance) do I need?

You will need one authorized instance for each copy of Message Sniffer you will be running on your equipment. Special provisions can be made for active standby/failover instances provided those instances to not carry production traffic. Note: Backup MTAs usually require their own instance because they actively process production traffic and are a favorite target of spammers!

We will provide you with a single Sniffer license ID that identifies your specific rulebase for all of your authorized instances. You will be able to use this rulebase on as many systems as you require, provided you have purchased the correct number of instances (typically, one instance per MTA).

We can provide additional license IDs in special cases where different rulebase versions are required for different instances. Please contact our support department for details.

What about slave licenses?

We are no longer offering slave licenses, except in special circumstances.

If you currently have a slave license, you do not need to make any changes to your system, but we do recommend consolidating down to one license id. Please contact the billing department when you are ready to do this.
