Speed
Message Sniffer (SNF) is the fastest email scanning engine, period. In today's environment where you have to dig through ten or more bad messages for every good message you want, speed counts.
SNF's scanning engine is based on advanced AI research. By using self-organizing cellular automata, SNF's scanning engine is able to scan an entire message at once in a single pass while applying more than 120,000 heuristics (typ). Virtual creatures called "evaluators" swarm over the data and work together to focus the CPUs attention only on the parts or the message that matter.
The result is astonishing speed. Using only generic, single processor hardware SNF is able to reliably process thousands of messages per minute!
A case from our lab:
One of our inbound spamtrap processors does double duty as a performance and reliability test bed for SNF. That system handles sustained rates in excess of 3500 messages per minute and peaks in excess of 4500, all day, every day.
Specs:
- OS: Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition
- CPU: single 2.3Ghz Intel P6, 4GB Ram.
- Storage: Two 34G IBM SCSI drives (one for system & spool, one for mailboxes)
- Network: Intel Pro/100 S Server Adapter
- Mail Server: IMail 8.15, SNF connected through MINIMI* (lightweight SNF shim)
