Is Message Sniffer a good fit for running on email clients?

SNF is not a good fit for email clients. It is not designed to work in that environment and the rulebase updates would just about kill most end-user's resources (multi megabyte file several times per day). SNF is designed to work in a server environment.

The V3 engine is under development and it will eventually support incremental updates, a much smaller rulebase format, and a faster scanner -- this may be a candidate for email clients, but that will be a secondary project.

Until then, SNF is all about stopping / sensing spam at the server level.
